Professional Designation Information
The elite of California Escrow Association education honors are its Professional Designations. With professional demands and compensation in the workplace increasing every day, earning a CEA Professional Designation has become a vital tool for success and recognition in the escrow profession. After successfully completing the appropriate exam, as well as meeting other experience and/or education requirements, CEA members can earn one or more of the following designations:
Certified Senior Escrow Officer Requirements (CSEO)
9 years escrow experience in the respected field within the immediate preceding 13 years, or 8 years escrow experience in the respective field within the immediate preceding 13 years, and the completion of Escrow I, II, and III at the community college or through a CEA sponsored course with a C average or better, or seven years escrow experience in the respective field within the immediate preceding 13 years and completion of college courses to qualify for CEA’s education achievement award. Either a copy of the award or application for same must be provided.
Certified Escrow Officer (CEO)
Certified Escrow Instructor (CEI)
Certified Escrow Technician (CET)
Certified Mobilehome Specialist (CMHS)
Certified Bulk Sales Specialist (CBSS)

To stay on top of the ever-changing escrow industry, Professional Designation holders are required to earn continuing education credits and maintain membership status in CEA as a requirement of the designations. This demonstrates to the public and colleagues that Professional Designation holders are the most knowledgeable and well-educated escrow practitioners.
